This policy explains how CB Drainage Scotland uses the information you give us when you visit cbdrainagescotland.com or contact us. CB Drainage Scotland is run by Brian Robb, who is the controller of that information.
Who we are
Brian Robb, trading as CB Drainage Scotland, 80 Churchill Street, Alloa, FK10 2JG. Email enquiries-cbdrainage@hotmail.com, phone 07935 496833.
What we collect and why
- When you ask for a quote or contact us (by the quote form, phone, text, WhatsApp or email): your name, phone number, email address, postcode and house number or name, what the problem is, how urgent it is, and any photos you send. We use this to reply, give you a quote and, if you go ahead, do the work. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and afterwards performing that contract.
- How the quote form works: the form only prepares a message in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to or stored by this website. You choose to send it to us yourself by WhatsApp, text or email, or you call us. Each message carries a short reference (such as CB-7K3Q) so we can match it to your enquiry.
- Records of work we do for you: kept for our accounts and legal obligations (lawful basis: legal obligation and contract).
- Website visits: our website host keeps short technical logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. When you tap a Call, Text, WhatsApp or Email button, the site records that a button was tapped, on which page, the enquiry reference, the type of device and how you found the site (for example from Google), so we can see which pages bring enquiries. It records nothing you typed and nothing that identifies you, and uses no cookies. This is done by Sitework, who manage our website and search listings (lawful basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which parts of the site bring work). We do not use analytics cookies or advertising tracking.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with services that help us run the business, who act on our instructions: Microsoft (our Outlook email), Cloudflare (hosts this website) and Sitework (manages the website and counts contact-button taps as described above). If you contact us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp (Meta) processes that conversation under its own privacy policy. Our accountant may see job records for tax purposes.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become work: 12 months. Customer and job records: 6 years after the job, for tax and warranty purposes. Photos of your drains are only used publicly, for example on this website or social media, with your permission and without your address.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Email enquiries-cbdrainage@hotmail.com. We reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies or similar technologies to track you. It stores nothing on your device except what your browser needs to show the page.
The map picture on our homepage is a plain image. The interactive Google map and the MyJobQuote reviews only load when you press "Open interactive map" or "Show MyJobQuote reviews". At that point Google or MyJobQuote may set their own cookies, under their own policies.
Changes
We will update this page if anything changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
